FAQs
(For portuguese see below)
1. Does the MAGNETS fellowship guarantee admission to a program?
No. MAGNETS is a fellowship program that provides financial support and mentorship to MSc students in Epidemiology or Statistics. The MAGNETS consortium is composed of research institutions that can provide mentorship and dissertation projects to students. Applying to, and being admitted to, an appropriate MSc program remains the responsibility of the applicant.
2. What MSc programs are eligible?
We have suggested MSc programs for each institution where the MAGNETS host institution has established mechanisms to co-supervise a dissertation. Programs not on this list are subject to an eligibility check by the MAGNETS Selection Committee (SC). Programs must be in Statistics or Epidemiology, or include sufficient formal academic training in those areas to qualify. The fit between the proposed MSc program and the MAGNETS program will be considered as part of the evaluation.
3. Can I defer the fellowship?
Fellowships are granted for a maximum of 2 years within the lifespan of the project (until March 2029). Provided there is a clear path to completing the dissertation and academic coursework within that timeline, the SC Committee may consider a deferral request if it is duly justified. Note that this information forms part of the evaluation.
4. Can I keep the fellowship if I'm not admitted to the MSc program?
No. Award of the fellowship is conditional on the prospective Fellow securing admission to the MSc program(s) they intended to apply to.
FAQs
3. Posso adiar a bolsa?
